Bills Using Franchise Tag On OT Cordy Glenn

Albert Breer of NFL Media reports that the Bills are using their franchise tag on OT Cordy Glenn.

There was talk that it could be difficult for the Bills to franchise Glenn, given their current cap situation, but recent reports indicated that the franchise tag was an option for Glenn.

However, it will likely result in the Bills cutting veteran OLB Mario Williams, which would create $12.9 million. This money would essentially be transferred to Glenn, as the tag will run them $13.706 million for the 2016 season.

Glenn, 26, has played out his four-year, $4,865,180 rookie contract and was in line to be one of the most sought after free agents in this year’s free agent market.

In 2015, Glenn appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 9 offensive tackle out of 76 qualifying players.

We have Glenn featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
