Lions Could Be An Option For TE Scott Chandler

Jason La Canfora reports that the Detroit Lions are “discussing” a possible visit for Bills free agent TE Scott Chandler.

  • La Canfora adds that Detroit are expected to continue mining the tight end market in the coming days.

Chandler, 28, has been a decent receiving option for the Bills in the past few years. Last season, Chandler caught 53 receptions for 655 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

The free agent market for tight ends is fairly limited this year, which means Chandler may actually do better than some more notable free agents based on his position and ability to contribute in the passing game.

According to Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News, the Bills have “expressed interest” in re-signing free agent TE Scott Chandler.

Bills HC Doug Marrone told reporters at the Combine a few weeks ago that he’s hoping they can get a deal workout with Chandler this offseason, so we’ll have to see how aggressive they’ll be in the next few weeks.
