Bills “Highly Unlikely” To Trade RB LeSean McCoy

Jeff Darlington of ESPN, citing a league source, reports that it’s “highly unlikely” the Bills will trade veteran RB LeSean McCoy before today’s deadline.

According to Darlington, several teams have reached out to the Bills, but teams have gotten the sense that Buffalo is holding firm and planning to keep him.

The Eagles reportedly reached out to the Bills about a potential deal for McCoy, but recent reports said it was unlikely he would be moved, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

McCoy, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2009. After six years in Philadelphia, McCoy was traded to the Bills, who later signed him to a five-year, $40 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed.

McCoy stands to make base salaries of $6 million and $6.075 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, McCoy has appeared in seven games and rushed for 257 yards on 75 carries (3.4YPC) to go along with 19 receptions for 167 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
