Bills Hoping To Re-Sign TE Scott Chandler

Bills HC Doug Marrone told reporters at the Combine on Thursday that he’s hoping they can get a deal workout with free agent TE Scott Chandler in the coming weeks.

“Hopefully we can get Scott back,” Marrone said, via BuffaloBills.com. “I think Scott did a heck of a job for us. He’s in the same situation as Jairus. I talked to Scott after the year, I thought he did a great job.  I thought he was a guy who tries to lead well, he does everything we asked of him.  I’m hoping he decides to come back, I really do.

Chandler, 28, has been a decent receiving option for the Bills in the past few years. Last season, Chandler caught 53 receptions for 655 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

The free agent market for tight ends is fairly limited this year, which means Chandler may actually do better than some more notable free agents based on his position and ability to contribute in the passing game.
