Bills Hosted Veteran DT Ahtyba Rubin On A Visit

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Bills brought in free agent DT Ahtyba Rubin for a visit this week.

The Seahawks were fielding trade offers for Rubin in the days leading up to the roster cut deadline and the Broncos came up as a potential option, but no deal ever surfaced and he was cut loose a few days ago.

This is the first reported interest in Rubin since he became available.

Rubin, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns back in 2008. He spent seven years in Cleveland before signing a one-year deal with the Seahawks.

Rubin was entering the second year of a three-year, $12 million contract that contained $5.5 million guaranteed and set to earn a base salary of $1.7 million this year when the Seahawks cut him loose last weekend.

In 16 games for the Seahawks and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 90 interior defensive lineman out of 125 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
