Bills Worked Out Group Of Players Including WRs Stephen Hill & Malachi Dupre

According to Damond Talbot of NFL Draft Diamonds, the Bills are hosting free agent CB Makinton Dorleant and WR Malachi Dupre for visits on Tuesday.

Dupre, 21, was selected in the seventh-round of this year’s NFL draft by the Packers. He signed a four-year, $2.46 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $465,000 for the 2017 season, but was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason.

It was somewhat surprising to see the Packers not sign him to their practice squad, given how much they value draft picks.

During his college career at LSU, Dupre caught 98 passes for 1,609 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns over the course of 31 games.

Dorleant, 24, signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa. He wound up making the team’s 53-man roster but landed on the injured reserve after sustaining a hamstring injury during the preseason.

The Packers later activated Dorleant from their injured reserve but he, unfortunately, suffered a torn ACL soon after.

Dorleant was in the second year of his three-year, $1.62 million contract when the Packers waived him this past April.

In 2016, Dorleant appeared in four games for the Packers and recorded one tackle and no interceptions.

Hill, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2012. He spent just two years with the team before he was placed waivers at the start of the 2014 season.

The Panthers later signed Hill to their practice squad and eventually gave him a future/reserve contract. However, he was waived with the injury designation at the start of the 2015 season and later reverted to the injured reserve list.

Carolina brought Hill back on a one-year contract back last year only to cut him loose during the final week of the preseason.

In 2013, Hill appeared in 12 games and caught 24 passes for 342 yards receiving and a touchdown.
