Ian Rapoport reports that Bills OLB IK Enemkpali appears to have sustained a torn ACL that would likely end his 2016 season.

  • According to Rapoport, Enemkpali will undergo an MRI to confirm the damage.

Bills OLB IK Enemkpali was carted off with what HC Rex Ryan referred to a “major” knee injury during Saturday’s preseason opener.

This could be bad news for the Bills, considering that they’ll already without first-round OLB Shaq Lawson for a portion of the season and second-round ILB Reggie Ragland for the season.

Enemkpali, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jets back in 2014. He was waived last summer after he was involved in an altercation with QB Geno Smith that led to Enemkpali punching the quarterback and breaking his jaw.

The Bills later elected to claim Enemkpali off of waivers.

Enemkpali is in the second-year of his three-year, $2,298,680 contract that includes a $600,000 base salary for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Enemkpali appeared in 11 games and recorded 13 tackles and no sacks for the Bills.
