Bills Plan On Utilizing Lee Evans More Next Season?

Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans has been rumored to be on the trading block for a number of years but instead of trading him the Bills may be looking to increase his usage now that their offense has shown signs of improving.

In an interview with WGR-550 AM in Buffalo, Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said that his top priority for the upcoming season is to get Evans more involved than he was last season.

I’m looking to get (Evans) way more involved in the offense this year,” Fitzpatrick said. “Some of the attention will go off him and he won’t see the constant double-team.”

The emergence of Steve Johnson should help to limit the amount of time that he’s up against double teams. Evans has been an effective deep threat but his career numbers have been held in check by the teams poor quarterback play. It’s hard to think that this team is ready to beat out the Patriots and Jets for the AFC East crown but they’re definitely a team that will command much more attention than they’ve garnered in previous years.
