Bills Promote LB A.J. Tarpley To Active Roster, Place LB Tony Steward On I.R.

The Buffalo Bills announced Thursday that they’ve placed rookie LB Tony Steward on season-ending injured reserve and promoted LB A.J. Tarpley to their active roster.

Steward, 23, was taken in the sixth round of this year’s NFL draft and managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. He’s in the first year of his four-year, $2,403,828 rookie contract that included $123,828 fully guaranteed and will make a base salary of $525,000 next year.

This season, Steward appeared in seven games and recorded two tackles for the Bills.
