Bills Promote RB Cierre Wood, Release DT Andre Fluellen

The Buffalo Bills announced Friday that they’ve promoted RB Cierre Wood to their active roster and released DT Andre Fluellen in a corresponding move.

This move is obviously in response to the news that RB LeSean McCoy will not suit up for their Week 4 match up.

Wood, 24, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in 2013. However, he lasted just a few months with the team before he was placed on waivers. S

Since then, Wood has played for the Patriots, Ravens and Seahawks before signing on to the Bills’ practice squad at the start of the regular season.

Last year, Wood appeared in three games and ran for nine yards on three carries while contributing on special teams as well.

Fluellen, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Lions back in 2008. He has spent most of his seven-year NFL career in Detroit, but has had brief stints with the Bears and Dolphins.

He’s been on and off of the team’s 53-man roster since the season began, so don’t be surprised if he’s re-signed at some point next week.

In 2014, Fluellen appeared in eight games and recorded 10 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery for the Lions.
