Bills Promote S Shamiel Gary & OL Michael Ola To Active Roster, Place S James Ihedigbo On I.R.

The Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that they’ve placed S James Ihedigbo on injured reserve and promoted S Shamiel Gary and OT Michael Ola to their active roster.

Gary, 25, originally signed with the Patriots as a undrafted free agent out Oklahoma Stae in 2014. He later caught on with the Bears before signing a future/reserve contract with the Dolphins.

Gary was unfortunately among the Dolphins’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Vikings’ practice squad a few days later. Minnesota cut him loose back in October and he later signed on to the Patriots’ practice squad before being released a few weeks ago.

The Bills later signed him to their practice squad at the start of December.

In 2015, Gary appeared in six games for the Dolphins and recorded 11 tackles and no interceptions.

Ihedigbo, 32, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent back in 2007. He spent four years in New York before catching on with the Patriots and later with the Ravens.

Ihedigbo signed a two-year contract with the Lions back in March of 2014 and played out the deal before testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent. The Bills signed him to a contract close to a month ago.

In 2016, Ihedigbo appeared in four games and recorded 16 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
