Bills Promote TE Nick O’Leary, Waive TE Matthew Mulligan

The Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that they’ve promoted TE Nick O’Leary to their active roster and waived veteran TE Matthew Mulligan.

Mulligan, 30, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Maine back in 2008. Since then, he’s played for several teams including the Titans, Jets, Rams, Packers, Patriots, BearsCardinals and Titans.

The Bills signed him to a contract back in June, and he managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseasoon.

This season, Mulligan has appeared in 12 games and caught a single pass for two yards receiving for the Bills.

O’Leary, 23, was selected in the sixth round of this year’s NFL draft. However, he was waived at the start of the season and later added to their practice squad.

During the preseason, O’Leary appeared in all four games, but caught just a single pass for eight yards.
