Bills QB E.J. Manuel Has LCL Sprain, Possible He Could Be Out 6-8 Weeks

Update:

Joe Buscaglia reports that Bills QB E.J. Manuel is expecting to be back in the next four weeks, but there is a chance that his LCL sprain could force him to miss up to 6 to 8 weeks.

Bills HC Doug Marrone told reporters on Friday that rookie QB E.J. Manuel has an LCL sprain that does not require surgery.

“We think it will be a few weeks,” said Marrone regarding Manuel’s status moving forward.

Marrone did mention that they will look to add quarterback at some point in the near future, so the Josh Freeman rumors are likely to pick up. Marrone went as far to say that a new quarterback starting against the Bengals in Week 6 wouldn’t be a stretch.

Jeff Tuel finished Thursday’s game completing  8-of-20 passes for 80 yards and an interception.
