Bills RB Fred Jackson Done For The Season

The Bills officially placed RB Fred Jackson on season-ending injured reserve today.

Fred Jackson discussed the severity of injury with ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

“It’s a grade II sprain of my MCL,”said Jackson. “I mean technically it’s a tear off the bone, because you tear the ligament away from the bone. So that’s why some people say it’s a tear, but the ligament itself is intact. It’s just pulled away from the bone a little bit.”

This just backs up the previous reports that Jackson’s 2012 season is most likely over with.

They told me I would be out 2-3 weeks, but I think they might just put me on injured reserve so they can get somebody to come in and play. Because I won’t be able to play the rest of the regular season, it looks like,” mentioned Jackson.

Several reports have come out that Bills RB Fred Jackson suffered a torn medial collateral ligament and will miss the remainder of the 2012 season.

If the Bills were still in the mix for a playoff spot, there’s a chance that could have been back in time to play at some point. C.J. Spiller will take over as the team’s featured running back for the remainder of the season.

Jackson, 31, has had a rough 2012 season. He suffered an LCL tear just a few weeks in to the season and recently returned from a concussion. He’ll finish the year with 437 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
