Bills RB Fred Jackson Willing Backup C.J. Spiller Next Year

According to Tim Graham of The Buffalo News, Bills RB Fred Jackson could be open to a backup role for the Bills in 2013.

Even if I did leave here, who’s to say where I go I won’t be some third- or fourth-string back there?” said Jackson, “This is where I started my career, and this is where I want to end my career.

Jackson mentioned specifically that RB C.J. Spillerplayed amazing this year, and with the opportunity he got he made a tremendous amount of plays.

Spiller had a great year in a limited role and it seems that Jackson understands that he is on the downside of his career, as he will be turning 32 next month.  However, it’s worth noting that the next coaching staff will have the final say for Jackson’s fate and in fact could opt to cut him since he is due $2.15 million in 2013.
