Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bills are re-signing veteran FB Jerome Felton to a contract on Monday.
Felton was among the team’s roster cuts coming out of the preseason, as they got their roster down to 53 players. However, it appears as though the Bills viewed this as a temporary move.
By cutting Felton and bringing him back during the season, the Bills ensured that his 2016 salary wouldn’t be guaranteed.
It also makes you wonder about rookie Glenn Gronkowski and his status with the team, as it’s not all that common for teams to carry two fullbacks on their 53-man roster.
Felton, 30, was in the second year of his four-year, $9.2 million contract that included $4 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $1.55 million in 2016 when the Bills cut him a few weeks ago.
Last year, Felton appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and ran for two years one a single carry and caught one pass for 12 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
