Bills Release QB Matt Flynn

The Buffalo Bills announced on Monday that QB Matt Flynn has been released.

  • The Billls signed free agent FB Evan Rodriguez to their active roster.

Flynn, 28, was signed to the team’s roster following an injury to rookie QB E.J. Manuel. He spent just three weeks with the team and never saw the field, despite Thad Lewis being forced to miss Week 9’s game due to injuries.

Flynn was cut loose by the Raiders earlier this season and didn’t find a lot of interest from NFL teams once available. Many expected to the Packers to show interest, but even they appear to be concerned about Flynn.

Since departing Green Bay for Seattle a few years ago, Flynn has made $14.5 million to start one game over the past two seasons.

He will have to pass through waivers before he can sign with a new team. We’ll have more regarding possible landing spots for Flynn in the coming days.
