The Buffalo Bills announced Friday that they’ve released S Orion Stewart from their practice squad. There was no corresponding roster move announced, so you can expect them to sign a player at some point in the near future.
The Bills’ practice squad now consists of:
- WR Brandon Reilly
- OL Jordan Mudge
- DL Marquavius Lewis
- LB Zach Vigil (Exception)
- G Will Pericak
- OT De’Ondre Wesley
- WR Malachi Dupre
- DB Greg Mabin
- DE Eric Lee
Stewart, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Broncos cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
The Bills later signed him to their practice squad.
During his college career at Baylor, Stewart recorded 260 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks, 12 interceptions with two of them being returned for touchdowns, a forced fumble, three recoveries and 14 pass defenses over the course of 46 games.
