- Frank adds that the Eagles waived WR B.J. Cunningham to make room for Smith.
Smith, 30, was placed on injured reserve back in August with a rib injury, but is healthy enough now to pass a physical and convince the Bills to release him off of injured reserve.
The Eagles could use some additional help at receiver and the fact that Smith can also return kicks and run the wildcat also gives them some more options to work with.
- La Canfora adds that Smith is now healthy and could be an “intriguing option” for a few NFL teams.
Smith has never been much of a receiver, but he can contribute on special teams and also run the wildcat for a team if needed. We’ll have to see if he lines up any visits for next week.
