Bills Reportedly Frustrated With G Richie Incognito’s Asking Price

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a league source with knowledge of the situation, reports that the Bills are “frustrated” with free agent G Richie Incognito‘s refusal to take their offer.

According to Florio, the Bills think Incognito should give them a break after they were the only team willing to offer him a second chance at an NFL career.

However, Florio mentions that this is the risk the Bills took when they signed him to a contract.

Buffalo elected to sign him to a one-year contract and Incognito responded with a Pro Bowl season. He has to know that this is likely his last opportunity to cash in as a free agent, so that could be a big factor in regards to him seeking a better offer from the Bills.

Incognito said previously that his No. 1 goal is to get a deal done with the Bills and return to Buffalo next season.

“I’m anxious. I’m anxious to see what happens,” Incognito said, via BuffaloBills.com. “My goal is to come back and play in Buffalo. I love it there. I love my teammates and I love playing for coach Rex and Greg Roman. I really think that my personality and my hard work approach and physical nature really resembles the spirit of Buffalo. A blue collar town and a bunch of hard working people up there, and they just want to win. That’s my number one goal is just to win and restore the glory of Buffalo. I hope it all works out and I hope I’m back there real soon.”

Incognito, 32, wound up being a much better signing than many anticipated for the Bills when they signed him to a one-year, $1.45 million last year. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent next week.

In 2015, Incognito appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 2 guard out of 82 qualifying players.
