Bills S Aaron Williams Taken To Hospital With Head/Neck Injuries, Has Rejoined Team

The Bills announced that S Aaron Williams has rejoined the team after getting a precautionary MRI and is flying back to Buffalo.

Bills C Eric Wood said S Aaron Williams left today’s game in an ambulance after he sustained head and neck injuries, per Mike Rodak.

Williams was injured whiling being blocked by Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry that was ultimately determined to be unnecessary roughness. After the game, Landry did offer an apology for the play.

This is, obviously, a major concern for Williams not just because he was taken to the hospital, but because he previously suffered a serious neck that led to some questions whether he would be able to return to the NFL.

Williams, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Bills back in 2011. He’s currently in the third year of his five-year, $26,077,844 million contract that includes $14.625 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $3.6 million for the 2016 season.

Entering today’s game, Williams had appeared in six games and recorded 16 tackles, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 45 safety out of 81 qualifying players.
