Bills Waive S Duke Williams

Update:

The Buffalo Bills officially announced that they’ve waived  S Duke Williams to make room for S James Ihedigbo, who has been signed to a contract.

Bills S Duke Williams thanked the team for an opportunity and indicated he’s been placed on waivers.

This comes after Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that the Bills are signing veteran S James Ihedigbo to a contract on Tuesday, so they would obviously need a roster spot, likely in the secondary.

Williams, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bills back in 2013. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.630 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Williams has appeared in nine games and recorded four tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.

We’ll have more regarding Williams’ status with the team as the news is available.
