The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Bills to pick up in 2021. It’s worth mentioning that the fifth-year option is only guaranteed for injury and won’t prevent the two parties from working on a long-term extension.
Edmunds, 20, was taken with the No. 16 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft by the Bills. According to OverTheCap.com, he received a $12,704,102 contract that includes a $7,319,348 signing bonus.
During his four-year college career at Virginia Tech, Edmunds recorded 213 total tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, one interception, five pass defenses, one fumble recoveries, and three forced fumbles.
