Bills Sign First-Round Pick QB E.J. Manuel

The Buffalo Bills announced the signing of first-round pick E.J. Manuel on Friday.

Manuel receives a four-year deal worth $8.9 million, which is fully guaranteed and includes a fifth-year option. He also receives a $4.84 million signing bonus, according to a P. Schrager.

It’s a great feeling and I’m excited to be truly part of the team now,” said Manuel, via Buffalobills.com. “I had no doubt at all. I knew I was going to be here and it was going to be done before training camp. I’m just glad it was done earlier instead of later.”

Manuel is the eighth first-round pick to sign a contract and is the last player in the Bills 2013 draft class to sign.

Manuel finds himself in a competition with Kevin Kolb for the team’s starting quarterback job. The two players have reportedly been splitting snaps with the first-team offense during this week’s minicamp, so we may not have an idea of who the starter will be until the preseason rolls around.
