Bills Sign Rookie TE Nick O’Leary To Practice Squad

After clearing waivers on Wednesday, the Bills signed rookie TE Nick O’Leary to their practice squad, according to Mike Rodak.

  • The Bills will need to cut someone from their taxi squad to make room for O’Leary

Buffalo waived O’Leary just yesterday to make room for veteran QB Matt Cassel, who was brought back on a reduced contract.

O’Leary, 23, was taken in the sixth round of this year’s NFL draft, and the hope was that he could be a decent receiving tight end for them in the coming years.

However, it appears as though O’Leary still has a ways to go in his development before the Bills are willing to keep him on their active roster.

During his four years at Florida State, O’Leary caught 114 passes for 1,591 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns.
