Bills Sign WR Corey Brown

The Buffalo Bills announced that they’ve signed have signed WR Corey Brown to a contract on Sunday.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Brown receives a one-year contract from the Bills.

Brown previously visited with the Detroit Lions since free agency opened, but it appears as though the Bills were his best opportunity.

Buffalo is looking to replace Robert Woods, who departed for a big-money deal with the Rams, and possibly Justin Hunter, who is currently testing the open market.

Brown, 25, wound up signing on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State back in 2014. He managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first three seasons with the Panthers but was not tendered a contract as a restricted free agent, which is why he was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Brown appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and caught 27 passes for 276 yards receiving and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. receiver out of qualifying players.
