Bills Signing LB Brandon Spikes

Veteran LB Brandon Spikes‘ agent announced that his client is signing with the Bills, according to Armando Salguero.

  • Mike Garafolo reports that Spikes receives a one-year deal from the Bills.

There was not much buzz surrounding Spikes this offseason, but he did work out for the Dolphins last week.

Spikes was suspended for four-games last year, but never caught on with a team during the 2015 season.

It is worth mentioning that Bills’ second-round LB Reggie Ragland is dealing with a knee injury that could be serious.

Spikes, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2010. He spent four years in New England before signing on with the Bills for the 2014 season after finding a limited free agent market.

The Patriots elected re-sign Spike to a one-year contract worth $1.1 million last year, only to release him in June after he was involved in a car accident and left the scene.

In 2014, he appeared in all 16 games and recorded 54 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and three pass defines. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 13 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players due in large part to a very solid rating as a run-defender.
