Bills Signing Veteran LB David Hawthorne

Mike Garafolo reports that the Bills are signing veteran LB David Hawthorne.

The Bills are doing their best to bolster their linebackers group, as they also signed Brandon Spikes on Sunday.

It is worth mentioning that second-round LB Reggie Ragland is dealing with a knee injury that could be serious.

Hawthorne, 31, was released by the Saints back in February and did not generate much buzz on the open market as an unrestricted free agent. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $19 million contract with New Orleans and was set to make a base salary of $1,750,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Hawthorne appeared in 11 games and recorded 33 tackles and two forced fumbles for the Saints.
