Bills A “Team To Watch” For Sam Bradford & Case Keenum

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Bills are a “team to watch” for free agent QB Sam Bradford in the coming days. Pelissero mentions that the Bills are a good scheme fit for Bradford and have shown some interest in him.

Pelissero adds that the Vikings have stayed in touch with Bradford in recent days, but it sounds like he could have other options available to him if he can pass a physical.

One other possibility for the Bills, according to Pelissero, is Case Keenum.

There are serious questions and concerns about Bradford’s knee and how it will hold up moving forward.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reported last month that Dr. James Andrews has told Bradford that his surgically repaired knee is sound and his ligaments are intact.

Last year, Bradford suffered a non-contact bone bruise in his left knee and later placed on injured reserve. Minnesota would later designate Bradford to return from injured reserve before activating him toward the end of the season.

Bradford, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2010. He spent four years with the Rams before he was traded to the Eagles in 2015. After Bridgewater sustained a serious knee injury last year, the Eagles traded him to the Vikings for draft compensation.

Bradford played out the final year of his two-year, $36 million contract that included $36 million guaranteed and is now in position to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2017, Bradford appeared in two games and thrown for 382 yards while completing 74.4 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Keenum, 29, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in 2013. He spent two years with the Texans before he was claimed off of waivers by the Rams.

Keenum later returned to the Texans before being traded back to the Rams for a 2016 seventh-round pick. The Rams elected to use a first-round tender on Keenum last year that paid him $3.635 million for the 2016 season.

The Vikings signed Keenum to a one-year, $2 million contract last year. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent again this offseason.

In 2017, Keenum has appeared in 15 games for the Vikings thrown for 3,547 yards while completing 67.6 percent of his passes to go along with 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 quarterback out of 40 qualifying players.
