Bills Unlikely To Make More In-Season Changes, Barring Total Collapse

Jason La Canfora reports that Bills owner Terry and Kim Pegula are “troubled by the poor start to the season” but aren’t considering any further in-season changes after the team fired OC Greg Roman on Friday.

La Canfora says that the Pegulas are loyal and won’t look to move on from either HC Rex Ryan or GM Doug Whaley during the season unless there’s an epic collapse.

According to La Canfora, sweeping changes are still possible during the offseason, and Ryan has reportedly mentioned to others that his long-term job security is in question.

Roman reportedly drew the ire of Whaley, who has made the case to ownership that he has acquired enough young talent for the team to perform at a higher level.

A team source tells La Canfora that many within the Bills’ organization are already in “survival mode” and trying to make the case to ownership that they aren’t responsible for the issues.

La Canfora says that Ryan will particular be judged on how the team’s defense performs moving forward.

We’ll have more regarding potential changes for the Bills as the news is available.
