Bills WR Jordan Matthews Expected To Be Out At Least A Month Following Thumb Surgery

Sal Capaccio reports that Bills WR Jordan Matthews will undergo thumb surgery and is expected to miss at least a month.

With Matthews out of the lineup, the Bills will look to rookie WR Zay Jones and TE Charles Clay to handle more work moving forward.

Matthews, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. He’s currently entering the third year of his four-year, $4,949,269 contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,094,901 for the 2017 season.

The Eagles traded Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick to the Bills in return for CB Ronald Darby.

In 2017, Matthews has appeared in four games and caught 10 passes for 162 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Bills.
