Blaine Gabbert Hoping To Be Back In Time For Week 11

Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert aggravated his shoulder injury during last night’s loss to the Colts. He was subsequently replaced by Chad Henne, but Gabbert “hopes” to be ready in time for Week 11’s game against Houston.

I’m going to do my best and be ready to roll,” said Gabbert, via Jaguars.com.

Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey mentioned that he doesn’t know the extent of Gabbert’s injury, but added that he believes Gabbert could have returned to the game if needed.

I just thought where we were with the score, with a guy who had just gotten injured, I didn’t think it was worth the risk,” said Mularkey. “I didn’t think it would have been very smart on our part to put him back out there.”

Gabbert’s 2012 season hasn’t been all that better than his rookie year. Henne isn’t the answer at quarterback and new owner Shad Kahn seems ready to make sweeping changes, so it’s safe to wonder whether or not Gabbert is playing for his job for the remainder of the season.
