Blake Bortles The Vikings Top QB Target?

Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN has spoken to a number of sources regarding the Vikings draft plans and there is “some sense” that Minnesota has UCF’s Blake Bortles as their “top quarterback target.

Earlier today, Peter King MMQB.com mentions that he can’t help but think Bortles is a fit for the Vikings.

According to King, Bortles is “the kind of quarterback Minnesota offensive coordinator Norv Turner loves” and doubts he’s available to anyone drafting after No. 8 overall.

However, King added that the Browns and Texans could also be in the mix for Bortles as well.

Last week, reports indicated that the Vikings were not expected to bring Bortles in for a workout, which could be seen as a sign they aren’t interested in him, but it’s worth noting that they dined with him at the Scouting Combine.

Bortles has visited with the Jaguars, BrownsTexans and Raiders, so he’s clearly being considered by teams drafting in the top ten.

We actually have the Vikings taking Bortles at No. 8 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
