Brad Childress Likely Out Of Running For Bills’ OC Job, BUF Meeting With Greg Olson On Thursday

Vic Carucci reports that Chiefs co-offensive coordinator Brad Childress appears to be out of the running for the Bills’ offensive coordinator position.

According to Carucci, Buffalo has a meeting scheduled with former Jaguars OC Greg Olson for Thursday in regards to their offensive coordinator vacancy, so he could be the guy to watch.

Ian Rapoport previously reported that is a “top target” for the Bills’ offensive coordinator job along with Olson. However, it appears as though Childress could end up back in Kansas City for the 2017 season.

The Bills have also been linked to former Vikings OC Norv Turner.

Childress, 60, began his NFL coaching career with the Eagles as their quarterbacks coach back in 1999. He was later promoted to offensive coordinator before being hired as the Vikings head coach in 2006.

After being fired by the Vikings, Childress spent one year with the Browns before he was hired by the Chiefs as their spread game analyst and later took over as offensive coordinator for the 2016 season.

In 2016, the Chiefs were No. 4 in points scored, No. 20 in total yards, No. 15 in rushing yards and No. 19 in passing yards.

Olson, 53, began his NFL coaching career with the 49ers back in 2001 as their quarterbacks coach. He’s worked for a number of teams including the Bears, Lions, Rams, Buccaneers, Jaguars and Raiders since then before returning to Jacksonville in 2015 to run their offense.

Unfortunately, the Jaguars elected to fire Olson back in October after he lost to the Titans.
