Cowboys Sign CB Brandon Carr To A Five-Year Deal

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Dallas Cowboys have signed CB Brandon Carr to a 5-year, $50.1 million deal.

Looks like the Cowboys finally got their cornerback. This is a great move for Dallas as they had to address their secondary during the offseason and they not only did that, but they also got a solid young player in the process.

We have Carr listed as the #9best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Nick Wright of 610 AM Kansas City reports that CB Brandon Carrwill be leaving Dallas without a contract.”

The two sides were reportedly close to reaching a deal and several insiders believed that it would ultimately get done but if this report is accurate, Carr could be on his way to meet with other prospective teams.

The Vikings could be up next but previous reports mentioned that they may not not be interested in signing Carr.

Michael Lombardi updates the Brandon Carr situation by mentioning that the two sides continue to work on a contract.

The cornerback market has been hit hard in the early part of free agency which could leave Carr with even more leverage in the negotiations. The general consensus is that a deal with get done but the longer this drags out, the worse it could be for the Cowboys. The good news for them is that Carr appears to want to get this deal done.

NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports that a deal between the Cowboys and CB Brandon Carr could be finalized in the very near future.

As this point, it also seems like a sure thing that Carr will be playing for the Cowboys next season. Dallas has to upgrade the cornerback position and adding a young talent like Carr makes plenty of sense but I’m surprised that the Vikings didn’t make a more serious run at him.
