Brandon LaFell “Pretty Much Locked Up” The No. 2 Wide Receiver Job

Panthers wide receiver Brandon LaFell is coming off of a season in which he had 36 receptions for 613 yards and three touchdowns in a limited amount of playing time. It sounds like this season, LaFell will have a chance to build on his 2011 production.

According to ESPN.com’s Pat Yasinskas, Brandon LaFell pretty much has locked up the No. 2 wide receiver job opposite Steve Smith.”

The job was LaFell’s to lose when receiver Legedu Naanee walked after last season. With even more playing time in store for him this year, there’s a chance that could be a serious breakout candidate. If LaFell does in fact put up great numbers, the Panthers could have one of the more explosive offenses in the NFL.
