Brandon Meriweather Out “At Least A Week” With An MCL/PCL Injury

Redskins S Brandon Meriweather will miss “at least a week” because of an injury to his left MCL/PCL, per Rich Campbell.

Redskins defensive back Brandon Meriweather was going to make his season debut yesterday against the Buccaneers until wide receiver and teammate Aldrick Robinson collided with him in pre-game warmups. The collision caused the two to miss the game and there was concern that Meriwheather had seriously re-injured his knee.

“Just talked to Brandon Meriweather briefly, how did the MRI go? He said ‘better than I thought.’ Another source called it a ‘minor setback,'” ESPN 980 in Washington tweeted.

This is good news for the Redskins and Meriweather as it sounds like he shouldn’t miss much time at all. The Redskins secondary could surely use Meriweather as the team’s pass defense has been atrocious so far this season, giving up an average of 326.2 yards per game, which ranks them 31st in the league.
