Brandon Weeden Hoping To Secure A Fully Guaranteed Contract From The Browns

Mark Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the reason for Browns QB Brandon Weeden decision to hold off on signing a contract with the team is to try to secure a fully guaranteed contract.

Players drafted in the later portion of the first-round tend to receive guarantees in only three of their four year’s. Given that Weeden will be 29 during the season, I’m sure his agent is doing everything he can to maximize his rookie deal, especially when you consider that the Browns have tipped their hands in regards to their intentions for the young quarterback.

The two sides will most likely have some worked out in the coming weeks.
