Bears Sign Khalil Mack To Six-Year, $141M Extension

Adam Schefter reports that the Bears and DE Khalil Mack agreed to a six-year, $141 million extension which includes $90 million guaranteed and a $60 million signing bonus.

The deal makes Mack the highest paid defensive player in NFL history.

Here is the full breakdown of the Bears’ trade for Mack earlier today:

  • Bears get: DE Khalil Mack, 2020 2nd-rd pick conditional, 2020 5th-rd pick.
  • Raiders get: 2019 1st-rd pick, 2020 1st-rd pick, 2020 3rd-rd pick, 2019 6th-rd pick.

Last night, Ian Rapoport was told that Raiders’ asking price for Mack was two first-round picks and player, but there was only one team willing to offer that much.

Mack, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. Mack played out the final year of his four-year, $18,677,002, but the Raiders picked up his fifth-year option last April.

Mack was in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2017, Mack appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 78 tackles, 10.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 6 edge defender out of 1086 qualifying players.
