Bills Sign QB A.J. McCarron To Two-Year, $10M Deal

The Buffalo Bills announced that they’ve signed QB A.J. McCarron to a two-year deal on Wednesday.

  • According to Pro Football Talk, McCarron receives a two-year, $10 million contract from the Bills with another $6.5 million available based on playing time.

The Bills really seemed like the last opportunity for McCarron to have any shot at playing time this year after the moves made by other quarterback-needy teams.

Reports said that the Cardinals had some interest in McCarron before they decided to go with Sam Bradford and Mike Glennon.

McCarron, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,401,652 contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season and was testing the free agent market for the first time in his career.

McCarron won a grievance against the Bengals that stemmed from the team’s decision to place him on the non-football injury list (NFI) at the start of training camp due to a shoulder issue during his rookie year. This prevented McCarron from accruing a season and is why he would have only qualified as a restricted free agent had he lost the case.

In 2017, McCarron appeared in three games for the Bengals and completed 7 of 14 passes for 66 yards to go along with no touchdowns or interceptions.

We have him featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
