Bills Trade LB Reggie Ragland To Chiefs For 2019 4th-Rd Pick

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Monday that they’ve traded a 2019 fourth-round pick to the Bills for LB Reggie Ragland.

This comes just a day after Bills HC Sean McDermott told reporters that Ragland was fighting for a roster spot on the team, despite being a second-round pick last year.

There was some question about how Ragland would fit in the Bills’ new 4-3 defense and it appears as though these concerns are warranted, as the team moved on from before trimming their roster down to 53 players.

Ragland, 23, was taken with the No. 41 overall pick by the Bills back in May of last year. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $5.84 million contract that included $3.16 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $715,517 and $981,034 over the next two years.

Ragland wound up missing the entire 2016 after he suffered a torn ACL during the preseason last year and was eventually placed on injured reserve.

During his college career at Alabama, Ragland recorded 220 tackles, 17.5 tackles for a loss, four sacks, four forced fumbles, three recoveries, an interception and 10 pass defenses.
