Mike Klis reports that the Broncos in process of acquiring Arizona OT Jared Veldheer for a sixth-round pick.

According to Klis, the Broncos plan to have Veldheer start for them at right tackle once the trade if official.

Veldheer had come up as a potential releasing candidate for the Cardinals this offseason, but it appears as though they found an interested team in the Broncos and will instead recoup a late-round pick for him.

Veldheer, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. After four years in Oakland, Veldheer signed a five-year, $35 million contract that included $10.5 million guaranteed with the Cardinals in March of 2014.

Veldheer is set to make a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2018 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Veldheer will free up 6,906,250 of available cap space while creating $3.25 million in dead money.

In 2017, Veldheer appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 45 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
