Broncos Trading QB Trevor Siemian To Vikings

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings are finalizing a trade for Broncos QB Trevor Siemian.

  • According to Mike Klis, the Vikings receive Siemian and a 2018 seventh-round pick from the Broncos for a 2019 fifth-round pick.

The Broncos were clearly working to trade Siemian the past few weeks and it looks like they plan to have him operate as Kirk Cousins‘ backup.

Interestingly enough, Cousins and Siemian both have the same agent, which may have helped to facilitate this deal.

Siemian’s 2017 season ended with him being placed on injured reserve after he suffered a subluxation, or partial dislocation, of his left shoulder.

Siemian, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2015. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $2.33 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Siemian threw for 2,285 yards while completing 59 percent of his passes to go along with 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 36 quarterback out of 39 qualifying players.
