Browns Trading Mid-Round Pick For Bills QB Tyrod Taylor

Adam Schefter reports that the Browns are trading a mid-round draft pick to Buffalo for QB Tyrod Taylor.

  • According to Rapoport, the Bills get the No. 65 overall pick from the Browns in return for Taylor.

This comes just a few hours after the Browns traded for WR Jarvis Landry, so Cleveland obviously isn’t wasting any time reshaping their offense.

Some wondered if the Bills could end up releasing Taylor. However, Buffalo was reportedly willing to hold onto him until the right deal surfaced and it looks like a third-round pick was enough to get the deal done in the end.

Taylor, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. After four years in Baltimore, Taylor signed on with the Bills for the 2015 season.

Taylor is entering the final year of a two-year, $30.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $10 million next season.

In 2017, Taylor has appeared in 15 games and thrown for 2,799 yards while completing 62.6 percent of his passes to go along with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has also rushed for 427 yards and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 12 quarterback out of 40 qualifying players.
