Adam Schefter reports that the Eagles have signed DT Timmy Jernigan to a four-year extension, $48 million extension that includes $26 million fully guaranteed.

This is a big move for the Eagles, as Jernigan would have been one of the top free agents next year. He has been a great addition to their defensive line and it makes sense to get a deal done now if he was willing to pass on testing the open market.

Jernigan, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $4.382 million contract that included $2.126 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $1,017,669 for the 2017 season.

The Ravens traded Jernigan and a third-round pick to the Eagles in return for a third-round pick.

In 2017, Jernigan has appeared in nine games for the Eagles and recorded 17 tackles and 1.5 sacks

We had him featured in our Top 25 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
