Update:

According to Mark Maske, Giants assistant GM Kevin Abrams will take over for Jerry Reese as the team’s interim GM.

Aditi Kinkhabwala is also reporting that the Giants have relieved GM Jerry Reese of his duties.

This comes just after the news surfaced that HC Ben McAdoo was out as the team’s head coach, so it’s clear that Giants are cleaning house and moving in an entirely new direction as an organization.

The Giants will now have a leg up on other NFL teams looking to make coaching and front office changes, given that they’re the first team to fire both a head coach and GM this year.

Overall, the Giants’ job should be pretty attractive to top candidates, considering that they do have talent to build around and will end up with a top-three draft pick that they can use on a quarterback of the future.

Reese, 54, was hired as the Giants GM in 2007 and has spent the past 11 years in charge of the team. In total, the Giants were 90-82 (52.3 percent) under Reese, which includes four playoff appearances and two Super Bowl titles.
