The New York Giants have made the decision to fire HC Ben McAdoo on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport.

This comes after a report from Kimberly Jones of the NFL Network who said that firings for the Giants “are imminent.

We’ll have to see if the Giants make any other moves such as firing GM Jerry Reese.

Reports from Sunday mentioned that McAdoo could be out following their Week 13 game against the Raiders and sure enough, New York has made the decision to move on.

McAdoo was criticized for how he handled the decision to bench QB Eli Manning as well other communication issues such as suspending cornerbacks Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Janoris Jenkins for violations.

It’s rare for a team, especially the Giants, to move on from a head coach a year after making the playoffs, but the wheels really came off for the team this year and it was going to be really difficult for them to justify keeping McAdoo around as their head coach moving forward.

The Giants’ head-coaching job should be attractive, even though there are question marks at quarterback moving forward. As of now, the team is in position to have a top 2 or 3 pick, so a new head coach would have an opportunity to draft a quarterback to develop in the coming years.

McAdoo, 40, was hired as the Giants’ offensive coordinator back in 2014 and took over for HC Tom Coughlin two years later. During his two years in charge of the team, McAdoo led them to a record of 13-15 (46.4 percent), which includes a playoff appearance last year.
