Jaguars To Sign DL Calais Campbell

Dianna Marie Russini reports that the Jaguars are expected to sign DL Calais Campbell.

  • According to Jason La Canfora, Campbell’s new contract will pay him $14 million per year.

Previous reports have said that the Jaguars were the team to watch for Campbell along with the Buccaneers. However, it appears as though the Jaguars were able to close the deal in the end.

Jacksonville has also been linked to notable free agents such as G Kevin Zeitler and CB A.J. Bouye.

Campbell, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2008. He played out the final year of his five-year, $55 million contract that included $17 million guaranteed and will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2016, Campbell appeared in all 16 games for the Cardinals and recorded 53 tackles, eight sacks, an interception, three fumble recoveries with one being returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles, six pass defenses and a safety. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 interior defensive lineman out of 127 qualifying players.

We had all of them featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
