Lions Releasing LB DeAndre Levy

Dave Birkett reports that the Lions are releasing veteran LB DeAndre Levy on Thursday.

  • Birkett mentions that Levy will be designated as a post-June 1 release.

Levy, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Lions back in 2009. He was in the third year of his five-year, $37.2 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed and set to make base salaries of $5.75 million (2017), $6.25 million (2018), and $6.75 million (2019) over the remainder of the agreement.

In 2016, Levy appeared in five games for the Lions and recorded 21 tackles, no sacks or interceptions and one pass defense.
