Lions Signing WR Marvin Jones To A Five-Year, $40M Deal

Dianna Marie Russini of ESPN reports that the Lions are signing Bengals WR Marvin Jones to a contract.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Jones receives five-year, $40M deal with $20M in guarantees and $17M fully guaranteed.
  • Jones will make $27M through the first three years of the deal.

The Lions were reportedly in the mix for Jones, who also had interest from the Giants and Browns. However, it looks like the Lions managed to close the deal.

Jones, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract and is now in line to be among the most sought after receivers in this year’s market.

In 2015, Jones appeared in all 16 games and recorded 65 receptions for 816 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 50 receiver out of 119 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
